design&technology!
Design and Technology (D&T) is a compulsory subject offered at the lower secondary level in about 95% of the local secondary schools. It is offered as an elective subject at the upper secondary level. In D&T, pupils are taught designing, simple technology and material processing skills. D&T is a relatively young subject in the school curriculum and is beginning to be researched at a local level. There is room for research work in the areas of pupil design ability; teaching and facilitating the design process; issues related to teaching and learning; assessment; design curriculum studies; factor influencing pupils’ learning in D&T ( e.g. gender, motivation, perception, disability, etc.); designing and technology application; visual literacy in D&T; pupils’ cognitive development in modeling vis-à-vis D&T learning.
